Are fat people more prone to diabetes?

Diabetes is a condition where your blood glucose levels are out of control. These elevated blood glucose levels lead to complications like heart attacks, strokes, kidney failure, loss of vision and so on.

Insulin is responsible for keeping glucose levels in check. Excess fat deposition can cause insulin resistance, where in the body does not respond to insulin signals to control blood glucose.
