Millets and oats are the in thing in the food world right now. Stores and restaurants featuring these alternative grains are hugely popular. They are packed with nutrition and don’t spike your blood sugars.
But it’s not a good idea to replace your usual staple grains with these alternative grains.
In olden times, millet used to be one of the staples, so our ancestors guts had the ability to digest them. Plus, their lifestyle involved more physical labor.
However, our digestive tracts are not designed to handle these heavy grains (Millet, steel cut oats) anymore. We live in a world of processed and refined foods.
So, enjoy these super foods in small quantities..
