Osteoarthritis is a common problem, where your joints wear off and degenerate. Usually seen after 40, women are at higher risk. Excess weight gain is also a big-time risk for osteoarthritis.
If you notice joint stiffness, pain on movement of the joint which is relieved when you take rest- you probably have arthritis.If you don’t take proper measures to treat it early on, you might end up with joint replacement surgery.

Here are some simple tips to prevent it-
- Make sure to wear comfortable footwear, which helps distribute your weight evenly.
- Check your Vitamin D levels and supplement if low.
- Include dark green leafy vegetables in your diet on a regular basis. They are very rich in calcium.
- If you are overweight, lose those extra kilos. Join a supervised exercise program or a walking group to keep you motivated.
Follow up with your doctor to get the necessary tests and plan to prevent progression of arthritis.
